Featured Venue Spotlight

Haw River Ballroom

This place is a true gem! Saxapahaw is a quiet little town just outside of Chapel Hill/Carrboro and near Graham. It's located on the beautiful Haw River, and right next to the venue is the Saxapahaw General Store, The Eddy Pub, and the Haw River Farmhouse Ales. I've noticed a number of Cat's Cradle-presented shows are not being held here as well, so it's clear there's a partnership.

I've had the pleasure of seeing some fantastic shows here, including some of my favorite bands like Lettuce and Greensky Bluegrass. The bands and the overall atmosphere did not disappoint. The venue itself is a large concert hall that features multiple bars and also an upper balcony area that doubles as a coffee shop called Cup22 in the daytime. There is also a nice outdoor patio towards the back of the venue with views of the Haw River.

This week they will welcome Tycho on Tuesday and Umphrey's McGee on Friday!

Magic City Hippies

Miami's indie funk party starters, Magic City Hippies bring their breezy alt-pop psych-funk to the stage this week and you don’t want to miss it! This weeks featured artist will be performing at The Ritz on Saturday. They are coming off the release of their new album Enemies. They performed at Cat’s Cradle last year and really brought the house down.
