Spring is here and so is festival season in the Carolinas! Last weekend Brewgaloo, Biscuits & Banjos were a hit! Merlefest also brought in over 50,000 people to the piedmont in Wilkesboro, NC for some legendary bluegrass performances.

This coming weekend is the 21st annual Shakori Hills Festival of Music & Dance in Pittsboro, NC.

This video was captured on Sunday as Leftover Salmon performed on the main stage at Merlefest. The band told stories of how they almost didn’t make it for their set, having traveled all the way from St. Louis the night before and hitting some major detours along the way. Luckily they made it just in time and delivered energy filled set featuring Jason Carter on Fiddle. This clip is the end of funky fan favorite “Gulf of Mexico”.

Shakori Hills Festival of Music & Dance

The Shak is Back! This Thursday through Sunday make your way out to Pittsboro, NC (just a short 45 minute drive from Raleigh) for the 21st annual Shakori Hills Festival. This legendary fest features music, dance, arts, yoga, food and craft vendors, kids activities and much more! Tickets, camping and parking are still available online or at the gate.
