The New Mastersounds made a final visit to The Lincoln Theatre to all our delight.
Datrian Johnson & The Family Tree from Asheville, NC opened the night with some soulful original music and a favorite NC guitarist of mine Isaac Hadden.

Last night in Carrboro was an absolute spectacle as Geese brought the house down at the legendary Cat's Cradle! The energy was palpable from the jump, with a huge, winding line outside long before the doors even opened. Inside, the place was packed to the gills, hitting full capacity with a frenetic, non-stop energy that turned the main floor into a constant swirl of motion and moshing, driven by Geese's explosive, post-punk-meets-art-rock sound.

Dove Ellis set the tone with his dynamic, genre-bending intensity, priming the crowd perfectly for the headliners. It was a beautiful, chaotic demonstration of the power of live rock and roll and proof that the Triangle's indie scene is thriving!

Get ready to melt your face because this Saturday, November 15th, is going to be a pure groove fiesta! The mighty Kendall Street Company is dropping into The Pour House in Raleigh, bringing their eclectic jam-rock party to the stage. These guys have been called "The Next Ween" by Pitchfork, which should tell you everything you need to know about their mix of intricate jams, storytelling and seriously infectious humor. Opening the night is Atlanta's own Frute, who will be serving up their unique blend of funky psychedelia and deep pocket grooves. If you're looking for a night of adventurous improvisation and non-stop dancing in the Triangle, this double-header is where you need to be.
