This week, our community remembers the legendary Bob Weir, a founding member of the Grateful Dead and the torch bearer for songbook that changed many our lives. While Bobby has left the stage, his influence here in North Carolina will be felt for generations to come.

I keep coming back to a special night at DPAC in March 2020. It was the last concert I saw before the world went quiet and live music faced its mass cancellation. I can still hear his voice cutting through that room—clear, weathered, and powerful. He played a strong performance along side The Wolf Brothers, Jay Lane and Don Was. In a moment of deep uncertainty, Bobby brought a message of hope and resilience that many of us held onto through the years that followed. He didn’t just play the hits, he carried the torch, pushing the music of the Dead into the colorful, improvisational landscape it is today.

This is the heartbeat of EZ Vibes. I founded this community on the same grounds Bobby walked: the belief that music is more than just a performance—it’s a form of meditation, a pillar for mental health, and a powerful way to uplift others. Like a Grateful Dead show, EZ Vibes is built on the idea that when we gather, we create a space where time goes away, and collective joy takes over.
